The Russian “Buzzer” 4.625Mhz

Here is the Russian “Buzzer” also known as UVB76. This isn’t the strongest I’ve ever heard it here. Conditions were not the best during this session. This is an interesting station to monitor from time to time as you never know what you’re going to hear on this frequency. Many have heard Russian names being called out. Even after all these years on this frequency, it is still unclear what the exact purpose of this signal is.

This signal seems to precede the “Mystery Signal”

I’ve been noticing this “pumping” signal which seems to begin approximately 10-15 minutes prior to the “Mystery Signal”  I’ve been reporting on. This is a wide bandwidth signal, and is found within the range, or very nearby to the range of which the “Mystery Signal” occupies. The video below contains the spectrum and waterfall presentation of this signal. During the recording of this video I switch from AM to USB mode and then switch back.  This gives a good representation of what to look for when hunting down this signal. This typically begins around 0345Z on or about 5.065Mhz. If anyone has any ideas what this may be, I’d really appreciate hearing from you. Feel free to respond here to use the contact link above.
